GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) - A Belgrade couple sold a rare Winchester rifle for $93,000 at auction. Walt and Pat Woodland sold the Winchester Model 1873 One of One Thousand to a Seattle-area collector during an online auction conducted by Shobe Auction & Realty on May 9. Winchester records show the historic firearm was made in 1877 and shipped from the Winchester factory a year later. The One of One Thousand rifles were fitted with barrels proven to shoot more accurately than standard barrels. The company intended to make 1,000 of the rifles, but records show that only about 133 were completed. Copyright 2009 Associated Press. All rights reserved.
