France-based Bilingual Arts Writer Wanted

Auction Central News is seeking a bilingual freelance correspondent based in France to write regular reports on the auction market in French and English, in blog format. The ideal candidate would be knowledgeable about antiques and fine art, familiar with the auction process and acquainted with influential members of the auction community. On occasion it may be necessary to cover important events in person. A lively, observational writing style is essential, and the ability to take good-quality digital images would be a plus. Reply with a brief c.v. or letter stating appropriate qualifications to editor@liveauctioneers.com.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) _ Court records show a couple has been charged with obtaining property worth hundreds of thousands of dollars from a man with dementia.

Washington County District Court records indicated the couple, 39-year-old Daniel Lee Meldron and 23-year-old Angie Rebecca Meldron, had power of attorney for the man. They were charged Dec. 15 after the sale of 26 antique cars that belonged to the Boonsboro-area man.

Court documents say the man was deprived of the sale proceeds of securities and bank accounts worth around $325,000.

Daniel Meldron is charged with five counts of obtaining property of a vulnerable adult $500 plus and theft scheme $500 plus. Angie Meldron is charged with obtaining property of a vulnerable adult over $500 and vulnerable adult abuse/custodian.

The investigation began last year after the man's neighbors told authorities he was living in unsanitary conditions without food or heat.

Charging documents say the man is now in the care of the Department of Social Services.
