PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The National Park Service will pay about $3.2 million in a land swap deal with a private group planning a Revolutionary War museum in Philadelphia's historic district. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Thursday that the park service estimates the project's total cost to taxpayers at more than $6 million, including renovations. In return for the money and a downtown building, the park service will receive about 78 acres of land in the Valley Forge National Historical Park currently owned by the American Revolution Center. Citing documents obtained through a Freedom of Information Act request, the Inquirer reported the park service will pay for refurbishment of an old visitor center located in the city.
