Toothpick holder, $2,700, Woody Auction A rare 2-inch signed Daum Nancy toothpick holder, with a winter scene decoration and in excellent condition, sold for $2,700 at a multiestate sale held April 4 by Woody Auction, based in Douglass, Kan., at Earth City, Mo., near St. Louis. Also, a 16-inch signed Daum Nancy three-color cameo corset-shaped vase gaveled for $3,750; and a 27-inch Pairpoint reverse-painted table lamp with a 16-inch Seville shade and tropical foliage décor rose to $3,500. Prices are hammer, exclusive of an auctioneer's commission.

Molded copper weather vane, $83,375, James D. Julia, Inc.

A molded copper weather vane attributed to Harris & Co. of Boston, depicting a leaping stag with zinc ears and antlers, sold for $83,375 at a sale of Fine Art & Folk Art held Feb. 6-7 by James D. Julia, Inc., in Fairfield, Maine. Also, a Paul Storr covered soup tureen with original liner, decorated with grape clusters and trailing vines on elegant claw feet, realized $38,525; and an original painting by Emile Gruppe, titled Water Lilies and depicting a large pond filled with water lilies, changed hands for $34,500. Prices include a 15 percent buyer's premium.

Duncanson painting, $105,750, Cowan's

An original oil on canvas painting by American painter Robert Scott Duncanson (1821-1872), done in 1856, sold for $105,750 at a Winter Fine and Decorative Art Sale held Feb. 7 by Cowan's Auctions Inc. in Cincinnati. Also, a bust of Minnehaha by Edmonia Lewis rose to $138,000; a late 19th-century Ohio stoneware jar achieved $3,525; a portrait of a woman and child with dog, attributed to Sheldon Peck, made $22,325; and a rare Chinese rhinoceros horn libation cup changed hands for $18,800. Prices include a 17.5 percent buyer's premium.

Triceratops skull, $250,000-plus, Heritage

An almost fully intact Triceratops dinosaur skull sold for more than $250,000 at a Signature Natural History Auction held Jan. 17-18 by Heritage Auction Galleries in Dallas. Also, an American Pyromorphite mineral specimen with a yellow-green hue climbed to $131,450; a "Brandenburg" scepter cluster of quartz with a mirror-bright luster garnered $119,500; a large lizard, fully preserved in historic amber, reached $95,600; and a classic American Red Cloud Wulfenite found a new owner for $71,700. Prices include a 15 percent buyer's premium.
