BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. – I.M. Chait Auctioneers will conduct a two-session Antiques & Estates Auction on Feb. 12 starting at 11 a.m. Pacific. LiveAuctioneers.com will provide Internet live bidding.

Asian arts, a longtime I.M. Chait specialty, dominate this auction. The first 250 lots of the 548-lot auction comprise the first session. Following a 20-minute intermission, the second session will begin around 2 p.m.

The auction is composed of Chinese jade and hardstone carvings, together with numerous snuff bottles and netsuke from a collection out of Westlake Village, Calif. From a Santa Monica estate are scholar’s table objects along with Japanese wood block prints, ivories, netsuke and ceramics.

A West Texas collection contains Chinese carved jades, porcelains, cloisonné and Asian decorations. Numerous Chinese scrolls in the auction are sourced from New York, Chicago and Northern California. Asian art including decorations, furnishings and antiques are from the Carrier estate of San Diego County.

The cover lot of the auction is a colorfully enameled Chinese Famille Rose ovoid porcelain vase that stands 15 1/2 inches high. With a design of geese among flowering trees and pine with a fish below, the vase has a coral-red Qianlong mark—but it’s probably Minguo, the auctioneer notes. The estimate is $1,000-$1,500.

The auction will be conducted at I.M. Chait's gallery at 9339 Civic Center Drive, Beverly Hills, CA, 90210.
