CHESTER, N.Y. - William J. Jenack Auctioneers, whose headquarters are located in the scenic Hudson River Valley, is one of the fastest growing auction galleries in the regions outside of New York City. Specialists in art, furniture, jewelry, decorations and several other categories since 1988, the company conducts monthly auctions at its recently expanded gallery 55 minutes north of the Big Apple. Jenack's next big event, a comprehensive June 28, 2009 fine art and antiques auction, will reach a global audience with live Internet bidding through LiveAuctioneers.com.

The 390-lot auction inventory incorporates American and European works of art, including a Pierre Outin (French, 1840-1899) oil-on-panel portrait of a Spanish beauty. Signed and dated 1888, the framed 44-inch by 29-inch artwork is estimated at $4,000-$6,000.

Asian works of art include a 22-inch-tall Chinese gilt-bronze Buddha seated in the lotus position. It is estimated at $15,000-$18,000. A Chinese carved-soapstone figure of Kwan Yin, 4¼ inches tall, is expected to make $1,000-$1,500; while a Chinese archaic-form bronze vessel known as a "ting" - with four feet and two handles, stands 13 inches tall and 10 inches wide, and could bring $1,500-$2,000 at auction.

Furniture ranges from 18th-century period pieces through desirable 20th-century Modern designs. A pair of unusually designed French Art Deco carved-walnut armchairs with "sweep" backs and new upholstery is expected to make $300-$500.

Other items of interest include 30+ lots Mexican & American silver jewelry, a small collection of coral, fossils and skulls, garden statuary including a pair of cast-stone garden lions and a second pair depicting whippets; a George Steck/New York mahogany baby grand piano, toys, and a selection of Oriental rugs and carpets. For pop culture collectors, the sale will offer a set of 1964 NEMS Beatles figures, each 4¾ inches tall. The group estimate is $250-$400.
